The Department of Chemistry at Penn State has a long history of successful partnerships with private sector companies. Numerous faculty members have conducted research collaborations with colleagues in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Our students are among the best in the world and many have gone on to be successful in the corporate sector.
If you are interested in discussing a potential research project or want to learn more about how your company can establish a relationship with our department, contact Tom Mallouk, Department Head, email@example.com or (814) 865-6553.

The graduate students in the Department of Chemistry receive a thorough education in the core areas of chemistry as well as the opportunity to work in cutting-edge interdisciplinary areas such as life sciences, materials, nanotechnology, energy and environmental chemistry. In addition to the formal classroom work and research training, our students participate in several workshops that are designed to strengthen communication skills. For example, we have hosted the American Chemical Society (ACS) sponsored PfLAGS (Preparing for Life After Graduate School) to help our students prepare for positions in academia or the corporate sector.
If you wish to visit our department and meet students for prospective employment, we offer an on-site recruiting opportunity each fall. For more than 40 years, Sponsors Days has brought corporate representatives to Penn State Chemistry in order to meet students and faculty. This two-day event enables recruiters to meet and interview our students as well as discuss science and possible collaborations with our faculty. To obtain more information about Sponsor Days, contact Sarah Lonsinger, firstname.lastname@example.org or (814) 865-6553.
