Tenure-Track Faculty Position

The Department of Chemistry, at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks outstanding applicants for tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of chemistry, including analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical, and theoretical/computational chemistry, as well as chemical biology, environmental chemistry, materials chemistry, polymer chemistry, and proteomics. We are especially interested in candidates with research interests in synthetic chemistry, including interdisciplinary areas that use and/or apply synthetic chemistry in unique ways. Both junior and senior candidates are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants should have a Ph.D., an outstanding record of research accomplishments, an innovative future research plan, and be capable of achieving teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of Chemistry offers a stimulating environment that supports cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, including a 177,000 square foot chemistry research building on the University Park campus, excellent shared instrumentation facilities, and close interactions with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, the Materials Research Institute, the Institutes of Energy and the Environment, and the Institute for CyberScience. Applicants must complete the Penn State application, and in addition submit an application through academicjobsonline.org at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/11469. The following materials must be submitted in order for the application to be complete: cover letter, current CV, and brief statement of research interests. Applicants will also need to arrange for three reference letters to be submitted to Academic Jobs Online. Review of applications will begin September 17, 2018, and the search will continue until the positions are filled. Penn State is responsive to the needs of dual career couples.
