Ray Schaak, Associate Professor of Chemistry, has been selected to receive a Scialog grant for studying solar energy conversion. The initial Scialog grant, awarded by the Research Corporation for Science Advancement, focused on “identifying and funding innovative research that has transformative potential for rapid translational application.” Schaak’s project, New Chemical Routes for Discovering and Improving Visible-Light Photocatalysts, was one of eleven individual awards funded in this initial cycle.

Schaak joined the Penn State faculty in 2007. He earned his Ph.D. in 2001 from Penn State University.
